We hope you are able to find our fabric shop in Yorkshire on your travels around the Yorkshire Dales. We are situated in the market town of Hawes in Unit 5, Raynes Court on the industrial estate, very close to the town centre. Hawes I believe, is the highest (or one of the highest) market towns in England, set at 850 feet above sea level, a surprising fact to say it sometimes floods on the roads around it!
You may also know Hawes from Wallace and Gromit and their favourite Wensleydale cheese which is made at the Wensleydale Creamery. You can visit the creamery to see how the cheese is made or try and buy it too.
Near us on the industrial estate there is Raydale Preserves that make the most delicious jams and chutneys. You pass them on the way to view the Liberty fabric we stock, not to mention the other cottons, needlecord, tweed and wools in our unit 5 on the industrial estate plus you'll also find the Wensleydale Pottery which is situated opposite us. So you see there are a few things of interest to visit, not just my lovely fabric. You will also find in our unit my husbands metal crafts including hanging baskets and brackets, log holders, clocks, weather vanes, garden ornaments, many made by him.
Please pop in and see us when you're next in the area or of course you can visit the fabric here online.
The metal crafts will be online soon dalesforge.com very soon
